Write for us

Lively News Spotlight welcomes carefully explained contributions that help readers understand how news is reported, framed, sourced and read. Send proposals through the Contact page.

Ideas we welcome

Pitch an evergreen explainer, a comparison of reporting formats, a piece of media history or a close reading of how headlines, images or sourcing work. Strong proposals focus on one clear question and show why a general reader might care.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the working title, central point, likely structure and the kinds of sources you would use. Flag any uncertainty, potential conflicts of interest or material that needs specialist verification. We value precise, original work over sweeping claims or recycled commentary.

Before you send

Use the Contact page to propose an idea; choose the editorial question option and include enough detail for us to assess its fit. A pitch is not a promise of publication. Please do not send confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.
